Last, but certainly not least, this one hits the mill.

Still don’t have a 6″ 500 S&W but one is in my future – The 454 Casul has been lonely since the 80s ;)

How are you able to tell it’s coming up soon? Did you speak to Al or have a secret ?

Look at the topic, it’s changed. That number, GB297, means Group Buy 297. Once you get a number you’re bound for the mill!

I did notice that number but did not understand what it meant. Thank you very much Mr. York. That is great news. I have been hoping these would have enough interest to get a run before Christmas. I just stocked up on primers and powder for this project.
I love my other caliber molds but my 500 magnum collection of molds are my favorite. Lots of versatility from light to hold on to your shorts kinda fun. Lol
I have not tried the traditional lube ones yet, but I’m loving the powder coated ones. They are working well on targets so far.

Ok, the RG4s held out till I rustled up the cash for this and the 485. That completes the set for me (got the other two late last week).
The 500g with all those base pins is truly a work of beauty. I’m going to have to wait for a warm weekend in order to cast with it, though. I do the casting in a corner of the garage right next to an exhaust fan. All that air streaming by on its way out keeps things relatively cool. Kinda nice in the summer but in the winter it just chills you right down.
Anyway, thanks, Al, this is one truly unique set of molds and I’m happy I was part of its birth.

Mine were in the mail yesterday and got 3 heat cycles.  4th cycle is in progress this AM.

Will be casting the HBs this afternoon and shooting a few.  A friend that has been waiting will show up for the test.  We plan on using the ones we like best after shooting on opening day – Sat.

The RG4 HB sure has the box stuffed with pins.  May set up to cast all weights at5 once.  Not sure how that will work with the weight variance.  Probably try the heaviest on the ends.

We got our order yesterday as well. Very quick shipping to California. Today I’m also going to pre treat and heat cycle my molds. We are expecting rain on Sunday, so I’m hoping to get a cast run in before the weather hits.
I also want to thank Al and everyone else involved on this one. Really cool design and unique. I think Elmer Keith would approve.
                                Happy casting and shooting gentlemen.
