What is / would be your favorite way of lubing this one?

The bands taper to the rear so if a lube die is used I would guess a 510 would be the go to and it would be a mess after the first band.  I’ve never uses a lube die with BP Boolit or talked with any who has.

I’ve been experimenting with the REAL 50 cal 250g and it seems somewhat sensitive to the consistency of the lube application.  I am now finger lubing with the same derivative of ALOX that Fryxell likes for cast lube – Moly grease & bees wax – as well as commercial lube and lots of weird & wounderous snake oils.  Less than 100 yds is a non issue.  200 and out is where the question arises.

TN harvest limit for does is extremely generous AND they are a real problem here.  Corn, beans, wheat & clover hay are the local crops.  Yep! they actually have fat on them!  Shooting distance is the same as rifle season – from <10yd to way on out there.

The game dept will give us off season license to kill off X# of excess depending on their survey.  The coo-Adah is you gotta leave them where they fall and rot (might could drag them to the edge for the coyote – also a problem).  Sorry – Not on My Watch!

I just put them through the lubesizer with a H&I die one thou larger than the biggest diameter band, I’m using a beeswax/tallow/lanacote mix.

We just need this design in .54″ and .45″ calibre now.

Largest band is 510.  Lyman & RCBS hsve 512 sizers.  No 511 so I guess this is the choice other than continuing finger lubing?
The Optima bore is .500 with my dial calipers.  Haven’t used a ball gauge / mike on the lands

                25 Remington
Do you use a lube / size or finger lube?

Plenty around that will make H&I dies to your specification at a friendly price.

I use Buckshot over on Cast Boolits.

Only place they tasted as good is around the alpha stacks in MT.  Here they are a menace to soy beans, corn, winter wheat, lots of clover in my hay fields.  They actually have fat on them.
