Had a successful harvest this weekend down in the swamp. These are PC’d with Smoke’s Red that help them load clean and easy no matter how hot it gets  ;) Loaded behind 60gr of Blackhorn209 that together keeps the bore  clean and easy to load. They were pushed through a .510 sizer first.

These went through the skull below the left eye and stopped after 19″ of penetration through skull and lung stopping just short of the third rib on the inside of the right side.

Congratulations on the Harvest! Looks like the bullet hung together quite nicely. Just curious, what alloy did you use?

          Alloy is @ 30:1 if memory serves….

BTW I just noticed I didn’t mention it was my 16YO son that scored the kill.

And here is a link to the entire story:

Will be casting this boolit next month for my T/C Hawken 50 caliber flintlock rifle. The gun shoots the Hornady PA Hunter bullet lights out at 50 yards with 80 grains of 2FF so I have great hope and optamism this hollow base boolit will do the same.

Looks like the dimensions listed for the PA bullet are the same or really close as mine dropped from the mold as for band diameters. I look forward to hearing how it does for you. I really thought I would see more posted about this bullet from others.

My CVA seemed to be picky with cast as they were designed to push powerbelts or sabots which it does very well. I tried the Lee REAL bullets and couldn’t do anything with them so I also had high hopes for this profile. It was a rocky start for me but I hit paydirt as soon as I sized them down and used PC. Guess I should try some bare sized with lube to see if it was the size or the lube?
