A bullet or bullets .257 Air Gunners Would like

I hope someone from NOE reads this and takes it seriously. NOE makes several .260 molds that look really good to me, except that they are .260 and not .258.

I know I’m sounding picky for posting this, but .260 is just too darn big a diameter and I don’t like sizing that far down. I don’t think I’m alone either. The
260-80-RF (RD) 4 cavity 2GC 2PB Brass 260-80-RF (RD) 4 cavity 2GC 2PB Brass in either Plain Base or GC would fly off the shelves if made in .258 as right now the only production mold that is acceptable to .257 air gunners is the Lyman 257420 and that’s only 65 grains and only two cavities. 

I’m sure that spitzers up to 90 grains with PB or GC and a similar bearing ring/gas check design would be welcome, as would a hollow point round.

Please let me know if you decide to act on this request.

There is also .258 those molds if You visit store You will find out. And what is wrong sizing those bullets to .260—> .257? I rather size it down and get good bullets than shoot unsized bullets or sized those in barrel which drags speed and hinder accuracy..

I have several NOE Molds, and they size just fine for my .257. In fact, they are the most accurate bullets I have for it.

1. NOE RD FP mold modded to cast at 60 grains for lower powered AG’s.

2. NOE RD FP 5 ganger, HP’s by Eric at Hollow Point Mold Service, and comes in at 80 gr. Extremely accurate! As in well under 1/2″ at 100 yards accurate. And is deadly on varmints.

3. The  100+ grain spitzer fp mold I decked to throw them at 80 grains.  Again, ultra accurate!

I size them from the .260 as cast to .2573 using a lee sizing die I purchased as a .243, then bored and laped it to the .2573. With good casting technique, and using imperial sizing wax, they come out beautifully. No smears at all!

First you have to know your bore size. Not just what it was sold as. .0003″ over seems about optimum for my bbl.

When I was talking to Al on the phone yesterday, he confirmed that they can adjust the finished diameter somewhat, so getting a mold to the diameter you want should not be an issue…. In this board you will see designs for my latest .257 cal BBT’s at 65, 78, 90, and (maybe) 100 gr…. The drive band will be 0.259″….
