Hey guys, just wanted to make a sticky with most of the abbreviations and Mold/Casting Terminology.  If you can respond with ones I am missing, I will add them to this list, thanks!

GC – Gas Check
PB – Plain Base
BB – Bevel Base
RD – Ranch Dog (forum user and bullet designer, some of his bullet designs will have an RD in the mold name)
ELCO – Designed by forum user frnkeore
SC – Standard Cut lube grooves (Ranch Dog Design and Terminology)
TL – Tumble Lube style lube grooves
RF – Round Flat (nose shape)
WFN – Wide Flat Nose
BT – Boat Tail
BBT – Bob’s Boat Tail (air rifle bullet)
SP – Spire or Spitzer Point
FN – Flat Nose
RN – Round Nose
HB – Hollow Base
HP – Hollow Point
TC – Truncated Cone
PP – Paper Patch (designed to be wrapped with paper patches)
HTC – Grooveless mold designs for coating with HiTek coating or Powder Coating
WC – Wad Cutter (trash can shaped bullet)
SWC – Semi Wad Cutter (crayon shaped bullet)
DEWC – Double Ended Wad Cutter (like a wadcutter bullet but with both ends looking the same)
Keith – Style of bullet designed by famous shooter Elmer Keith typically with a Semi Wadcutter shape but with a very wide meplat (flat nose)
RG – NOE hollow point design (RG2 = 2 cavity Hollow point mold, RG4 = 4 cavity hollow point mold)
QL – QuickLoad (a ballistic prediction program for developing loads)
CP = Centre of Pressure. (% = distance from base as a percentage of the bullet length)

The z4 is a control number for inventory purposes.

What does AJ mean. As In 459-535-RN-AJ3. It looks like the Lyman postell bullet, but I want to be sure. If it is I think I’m going to order it this weekend for my BPCR rifle

I think that has something to do with inventory control in the web-store. It denotes where it can be found to speed up the shipping process when it’s ordered…at least I think that’s what it is  used for.

I’m not sure if this is the place to ask, but I have a question about abbreviations in the bullet diagram in the store.
I know what CG is, center of gravity.
What does from bas and CP stand for? and the % numbers?

I did not see any for Round Ball. Is there a reason for the lack of Rond Ball molds?

I have a new .510 air rifle that I need to make some bullets for. For years I have shot blackpowder rifles, I was thinking of starting this new rifle with Round Ball before I went over to conical bullets.
