Anyone loading the NOE 360-155-WC in .38 Special? I’ll be loading for a GP100 and was kind of curious about what was working for others. I guess most folks probably seat this one just below flush with a little crimp? How many lube grooves do you fill? Interested in any info you’d like to share. I own a bookcase full of load manuals but am interested in shortening the learning curve if possible. Not much info on this one available searching the net.

Kind of a different WC design with no crimp groove and all those lube grooves….how do you put it to work for you?

I shoot it in a Colt Diamond Back and a S&W Model 52

For the 52 I seat them flush (three on the left)
And for the DB I crimp in the top band

Lube the first two lube grooves and use 3.7Gr. of Russia Unique
Great load to get some trigger time in with – now if I can only get a range in the shop!

Thanks for the info Al. Good to hear of your success with the Russian Unique in the load. I have a few pounds of Unique I was hoping to put to work in the .38S loads. Have several other options if needed but kind of had that plan in mind. I think I’ll start with them flush and ladder load a few different charges and see how that goes. Maybe I can come up with a target worthy of posting in that section of the forum. If not, I’ll move them out farther.

Thanks again for sharing your experiences.

In the 38 Special using the new 148 HBWC Al recently made,  I have found that 3.0 grains of WST works well and gives me about 800 FPS with routinely less than 20 FPS SD in my 6″ M19 S&W and 6.5″ Ruger OMBH.  I size to 0.358″ and lube with a 50/50 mix of White’s BAC and Carnuba red.
