There is still a lot of good rifle brass out there that is berdan primed.  Berdan primers ARE available, but life would be easier if it was possible to reload the brass with boxer primers.  Berdan primers are a little larger than large rifle primers.  Is anyone interested in a tool that can be used with a standard press to swage down the berdan primer pockets so that boxer primers will work?  Of course there is more to the process than just that, but it would make the whole process easier.  Here is a drawing of an idea.  Tell me what you think.

I’d be in for one of those kits.

I’d also like to see a drill guide made to fit the swaged pocket for putting the flash hole in.

There would also need to be a robust pillar from the top of the press into the case for the swage tool to work against and withstand the pressure required.

That would be great to have.

Rock Solid Industries has made one. It costs $20 and will cut the military crimp from 2 sizes of berdan primer pockets.

It looks like a fine tool, but I am looking for a tool to convert berdan brass to boxer.
