I just like the idea of getting the most out of everything …..
I’m wishing for a 36 cal 1R with a rebated step .
Basically a round ball with a squared base and a step or tapered shank . For my 36 C&B the step would be .372 with the nose radius being .378 . A flat point wouldn’t hurt my feelings . Oal should be kept to .385 . Having only about .2 for a driving band and base doesn’t leave much room for lube grooves but most C&B shooters lube over the ball or with cookies so not a huge concern if it’s absent .Same thing for a 44 except a .445 base .450 band/nose radius and .460 oal .
This would have room for a lube groove maybe .05 square ?I don’t know if either is a great plan but it would step up the muzzle energy a little and maybe make a more accurate ball than the Picket conical .
