This is our procedure for casting with one of our RG (Removable Guide) HP (Hollow Point) moulds.

First follow the instructions in our “Hints and Tips for casting with NOE Moulds”

This will get you started in the right direction.
Pay close attention to the section on pre heating and make sure that you heat the pins as well as the mould blocks.

Cold HP pins are the biggest problem we see with new casters as well as seasoned casters and RG moulds.
Cold pins will stick! – You need to have the pins as hot or hotter than the mould blocks.

The second biggest problem we see is not settling the pins down on there brackets before you close the
mould blocks to pour the next batch.

The pins need clearance with there brackets in order to function correctly. And if you don’t let them return
to there correct position on the bracket you will get divots on the nose of your bullets or inconsistent
hollow points and weight variances.

As I close a RG mould I tip the block so the pins slide back in to the pin holes and use a “tap, tap, tap”
on the handle pivot bolt as I close them. This will let the pins settle all the way down on the brackets.

Adjusting RG pins
Our pins are adjusted at the time of assemble to assure that they will open and close OK.
Some times a FN pin will set a little high in the block and need to be adjusted.
To do this you can use a small crescent wrench as shown below.

You can gently bend the clip down to let the pin set even with the nose of the bullet. it is very easy to
move the pin down .005″ to .010″.

If you are angry with photofeckit about changing their terms and conditions which has stopped embedded post links leaving threads bereft of their pictorial content then have a look at your browser add ons for the “Photobucket Hotlink” extension and load it, all the lost photofeckit photographs will now be visible again in the post.

I am not recommending that people use photobucket again but this is an effective workaround to overcome their vindictive pique and restore photo threads to their former glory.

I know that their are such add ons for Firefox Opera and Chrome browsers, not sure about others.
