cloning of 311329

      who else uses this mold enough they’d like to se more than one or two cavities. this mold from ideal/lyman was a 185gr spire point gas checked and was discontinued by lyman in 1973, it shoots great in my savage m110 (1/12 twist) over 22.5gr imr4198. if anyone else is interested i have samples ready to send in for cloning, post an interest and more than five i’ll send samples,

        I have shot many lyman 311334 190 grain and like it very much. The 311329 has a more aero profile and might be worth looking at. I’ll be watching this thread to see how it progresses. Just waiting to see who else may be interested.

          This is sort of close to what your talking about sorta. These weigh about 200 cast and lubed. They are pretty awesome. I have a group buy discussion here or I’m participating in one titled “311-198 sp”

            I have a Lyman 311329 four cavity mould and it produces a fine bullet, needs to be cast hard though as the nose can slump. I use a BHN 14 which is a good bit harder than what I like in 2000 fps rifle bullets. The problem is the Lyman mould does not get used much due to its weight so an aluminium one would do me nicely if a direct copy and off course a 0.316″ would compliment it exactly.

              I do see the differences a little. The 311329 looks a bit like noe 311-198 cept 15 grain lighter. Looks like it has a large body in front of the crimp groove to ride the bore better too.
