Anyone interested in a copy of this Lyman 243g, 8mm mould, preferably around .325″ ? My original is in very poor shape and I’d like a 2 cav NOE version. No dimension drawing that I can find on the internetty.

Looked at doing this one for a long time myself

Lets get some interest in it and get it going.
Have about 12 GEW 88 Commission Rifles that would like it too.

I’m interested, but would have to check the measurements.

              Al,
I would like to make a suggestion, regarding this bullet. Although it won’t make it a exact clone, I think it would make it fit the throat much better and therefore, more accurate.

Since both the “J” & “S” bore are .311 on the lands, if you raise only forward area of the nose to .310, it would fit the throat, much better. The military 8×57 throat, is very long. It ends at .311, 1.378, forward of the case. The angle is 17′ 11″ or .29 degree.

How much variation can you go in this design? The reason that I ask is this is a perfect match for the 8x50r mannlicher rifles, if cut at .329 or so, which would allow it to be much closer to groove diameter than using .323 bullets

I would tend to agree with frnkeore. Actually I would prefer slightly fatter as well.
