Been looking for a good supersonic 300 blk plinking bullet with a flat nose or hollow point, designed to be used with the powder coating process, which will feed reliably in an AR.  Anybody else need something like this?

Ok, I met up with Al and tossed some ideas around and came up with a drawing.  Basically we took an air rifle bullet (the one I use for light weight subsonic plinker loads in my 300 blk bolt guns) and slightly modified the bore rider section, kept the nose pretty much the same (should feed well and not get too banged up on the tip, took out the lube groove, took out the bevel base, and added either a plain base or gas check option.  Here it is:

I like the looks of it. Let see if we have enough interest for a group buy.

Teemu, what would you be shooting it in?  And would you be powder coating/hi-tek coating the bullets?

That model looks fine just want to get some wider part which was marked x. Planning shoot on airgun. That HTC-GC model looks good. Just needing change to size it trought couple dies.  Noticed that bullets which are sized down on couple dies shoots better than directly on mold. Perfectly round etc.

.311 gives me a change use 2 dies… Needing .309 at end. If it possible…

So wouldn’t a .310 give you a closer diameter to what you need in the end?  the .309?

Yes but on my alloy it may drop .310 or .309.  My point is I need some room to use sizing dies. If I could use two dies it would be better. So my side .311 is good. I get perfectly round bullets when size them trought two dies. It is more accurate thing on airguns than firearms.

But if isn’t option thats it. Just asking if it possible to get it .311 or so.  I rather buy wider models/molds and size bullets down on right diameter than get exact same diameter or 0.01 wider mold if it possible. Fits my/airgun purpose best.

Altought I understand if everybody else likes .310 and I liked to get .311 so i’m kind a thin ice…Majority counts. So no stress.. ;D

For the powder coaters, .310 would probably be ideal.  For the people who have shown interest so far, what diameter fits your needs best?

I’ll be powder coating for 300 BLK which seems to be the purpose of this design. If you say .310 is probably ideal then that’s what I vote for.

I could check with Al to see if he’d be willing to do a .310 and .312 in the same group buy.  Seems like a .312 powder coated to .313 or .314 might work well in some of the old milsurps.
