been looking at casting some 450bm with a heavier grain. however i dont particularly want the lube grooves. ideally a 350 grain bullet is the goal. with hp and flat face option. pb as this is going to be intended with lower velocities in mind. any ideas or improvements anyone? first time for this site so corrections and/or tips are appreciated. picture simply for reference of design, like i said the idea is grooveless.

i should also note that while this is a serious inquiry to a possible mold. this is also serving as a question to whether or not lube groove is necessary if i powder coat cast bullets to prevent fouling of the barrel and a potential suppressor. if anyone knows that powder coating a cast bullet with lube grooves will be able to prevent this then the no groove is mostly going to be for qol when casting as ive read they can be more forgiving when casting as far as temperature variations and filling out the mold.

I believe Al has plans to run the current 450 bm bullet mould in a grooveless configuration.  Not sure how soon though.  This is the one:

I guess my next question is does anyone think that would be fine for subsonic velocities. The original idea was to have as much mass as reasonably possible for subsonic loads.

these should be fine for subsonic loads in a bolt gun, but it should be noted that some 450 bm barrels have a 16 twist (which can stabilize longer bullets fine at slower speeds) but others have a 24 twist rate (which might not do as well at stabilizing the really long heavy bullets at slow speeds).
