Being a new shooter to the 7mm pistol world (both 7mm TCU and 7×30 Waters in Thompson Contenders), I have found that the options for a cast deer bullet hunting is very limited. Wanting a bullet that would expand at lower lower pistol velocities.
I am thinking that a Hollow Point Version of either:
Or
Or a HTC version of either weight that could be Hy-Tek coated.
Would want these in a multi-cavity format (2 to 5 cavities). Also, would want this as a Gas Check bullet only. Need this for for the velocities.
Need some input on thoughts about weights. Some might want the heavier bullet with a lower velocity, while others would want the lighter bullet at higher velocities. Personally, I think the 168gr version would be a better conversion. With the lost weight of the hollowing process, should be an ideal weight for deer or other medium game.
Thanks for any input.
