I love that profile in the .45 Colt. I suspect it would make an awesome .44 special/mag bullet.

Here is the profile in .45
But I want it in .44 as well.

Is the 277 keith style too heavy?

It’s not too heavy. But this shorter nose seems to fly better for me. (I have the Keith in all calibers)

Ha ha ok, do you have dimensions in mind?

I don’t have one that I have measured. Wouldn’t it just be the existing .452 bullet that NOE makes, scaled down by 0.95±?

Just the bands?  Or scale the whole thing down?

I would think that something along these lines that weighed around 215 to 220 grains would be great in the 44 Special

I would say, the whole thing. But I’d have to sit down and measure one and scale each dimension if I were to give you a drawing. I would figure that somebody would have a program that might do that from a 454-423 bullet.

I’ve been looking for something in the 210-220 gr range to shoot in my model 69

I can’t really scale bullets up or down in the drawing program I use.  But, if you have some measurements, I can draw it up pretty easily.

I am not a bullet designer by even the wildest stretch of imagination. I have been watching this thread and said to myself,  “How  difficult could this be? Well as I fumbled around with numbers it didn’t take long to see why the ones who do this have a computer program that takes all of the guesswork out of designing these things. The thing I came worked up looks like a NOE 432 255 and they are in the web store. Maybe it could be re-designed?

I would say leave the band lengths, nose length and overall length as is just make the diameter smaller by .021-.022  and it would be fine. I ran it quick through the mountain mold software and it should be about 220 gr.

If you maintained the 75% meplat that the 452423 has a .432 version is .324 if my math is right.
                                .340 ÷ .453 = .7505 or 75%
                                .432 × 75% = .324
