I’ve never tried the NOE size dies, but would like to. I mostly shoot muzzleloaders and paper patched bullets in centerfires so my sizing needs are a bit different from most. Almost always very soft bullets, but may want to go from .458″ to .450″ or .308″ to .300″ or somesuch depending upon what I’m working with. Are the NOE sizers capable of doing this? Normally the Lee ones aren’t because of an abrupt angle in the entrance or a poor finish inside. Hoping these will do the trick.

I would use more than one bushing, to size the bullets in stages of about 0.003″…. Depending on the diameter and hardness of the lead you may need to use 0.002″, or be able to go 0.004″ each time…. but I would not suggest trying to go 0.008″ in one step…. The additional bushing(s) are only $10 each…. You can get .30 cal Airgun bushings for the smaller sizes in .30 cal, and .45 cal pistol bushings for the smaller sizes in .45 cal….

Bob has given you some very good advise.

Remember also that if you are using a very soft alloy, & or basically pure lead that the pressure of sizing may end up deforming the nose or bore riding section of your cast product… Especially if the they are smaller than the final sizing diameter… that you are utilizing

I normally personally use the NOE nose and body sizes in .001 diameters as tweeners between the normally available… lubri sizing dies…

Taking too big a sizing bite at once can lead to other potential sizing issues…

One eats an elephant one bite at a time…

However that is my personal choice when trying to final size cast product for some special project…

          Take Care, & Be Safe…
