Participant::I am okay with either design, but I had a thought recently looking at some plated bullets the other day. What about a mash up of the two designs, keep the small meplat in a RNFP. I know the issue with the other design is the wide meplat causes feeding issues, just throwing things out to possibly get some more people interested in it. I would be fine with dropping it to .358, which I think would keep it more versatile than .357 if anyone had the urge to try some 38 special bunny farts with this bullet? Just thinking out loud and bumping the thread.

Participant::I’d be just fine with dropping to .358. Ive ran this bullet (minus the hollow point) in 3 380s my blackhawk, a p365, and a cz75. Had zero feeding issues. I traded some to a guy and he ran through 2 of his guns with no issue. I would be ok with making the nose a bit shorter, that might make up some of the weight from the hollow point and keep it ~97-100gr, but i dont know what a rn would do. I can mill down a lee 124rn and see what happens but i know these work.

Participant::Bsev, i can send you some if you want to try them out, im in my casting season and i need to reface the top of that mold to get it a touch more true. I bought my own lathe and mill last fall so i dont have to rely on the trueness of someone elses

I would gladly take a handful if you’re already casting some, send me a PM whenever you have a few ready. I have no reason for the round nose profile other than the fact that all of my other molds are RNFP and I like that better than the truncated cone profile. Although, these are for the wife anyway so the design won’t bother me a bit.

Participant::LoneWatie was kind enough to send me a bag of these bullets that he made with his modified mold that his design is proposing. Hoping to gather some interest and get the ball rolling for this mold once and for all, I decided to make a video of me loading and shooting just a couple of these. It’s not much, but if you’ve ever had an issue with feeding in 380 then you already know it only takes 3-4 rounds to hang up.
There’s no denying this nose profile will function great. So if you’re one of those with a 380 that seems to be “cast bullet picky” then make some noise in this thread and let’s make it happen!
Thanks for checking it out.
