First of all thank you Mr Nelson for making this mold become a reality!
This afternoon I turned 25lbs of lead into projectiles with me new 5 cavity mold and managed to get a coat of Hitek red copper on them all too.
A trick I had to employ to get the mold running quick without overheating and for the big boolits to solidify was to rest the mold on a wet rag after every pour. Once I did that the big perfectly formed bullets were raining out of the big 5 cavity and none needed any persuasion to fall out. Extremely happy with the mold and thanks for making it!
I’ll post more pictures soon when they are loaded and when i try them out.

Finally got a chance to cast some of these up, starting to cool off here.  I cast these up, coated them with HiTek Bronze 500 and sized them to .459″  in my NOE push through sizer.  I only have a lever in 45-70 so these are really for the .458 SOCOM but I will try a few in my Ruger #1H in .460 Weatherby Mag with a lighter charge of Unique for 45-70 ish ballistics.

So, I finally got the chance to shoot some of these out of my Pedersoli sharps rifle.  We were banging the big steel target at 315 yards with my Trailboss sub loads (I’d accidentally left my 5744 loads at home DOH!)  Anyways, to report, there was no leading in that long barrel–and they were actually quite quiet (kind of like a super sonic .22 sound).  There was about a 2 second delay between the shot and the “bong!” sound of hitting the steel plate.  Fun stuff though!  I would have liked to have tested it at a farther distance, but it was the holiday weekend and too many people were out there shooting.

Great Video!  Those look like they were nice and soft to shoot, how fast were they going?

Thanks, I didn’t clock them out of the Sharps but out of the encore they were going like 880-900fps if i remember correctly.
