Since this group buy has been slow, I talked to Al about changing the design slightly so that it can be cut with the same tool as the crimp groove MOAB bullet. This would give us a few advantages. First, we would only have to have a total of 10 buyers between the 600 gr moab crimp groove bullet and this one–so it would probably be ready a lot sooner. Second, we would gain a few more hp pins to be included. Third, we could still get this one cut in the regular blocks I believe (which would save us a few bucks on the mold). Please let me know if you guys are ok with the design change. One potential downside is the slightly smaller meplat, but the tradeoff is a higher bc bullet.

You are killing me. NOE is going to be leading the way in the 458 socom and 45-70 world. I have a question that would leave me wanting this one even more. Could we remove the crime groove and have the recessed band like the original MOAB? That wouldn’t require new tooling would it? Also I sent al a private message and never heard back. I really want to see the name of the bullet on the mold. Can that happen?

I talked to Al about this and he said that he will try to run some of them too, but since the group buy was already closed (and the molds are being made right now) that they would just be an inventory item without the group buy coupon discount.

Yes, the minimum of 10 (with the two sizes using the same tool) has been met, so this one will be run. Timeline wise, I’m not sure, but it will be run. I think Al has the non crimp groove version on the mill right now and is running those first. My 45-70 is wanting some of these!
So these are being made? Is there an eta? I’m working in the 3rd world until this winter and don’t have regular internet access, don’t want to miss out on getting one!
Do I understand correctly that an “RG” mold will come with the pins to make any of the three shown hollow points? Also that you can make flat nose bullets with the mold?
If that is true then I would prefer an RG2 (this means 2 cavity right?) mold but if it’s too late I’ll still take the plain mold.
