Is a 429422 clone doable?

Should balloon enough to fit any awkward throat and/or bore size.

Perhaps in .44 and .45 and less like the 429421 and more like a 452423 more short and squat.
Thinking those Eley .455 -to- .45 Acp conversions and those ruger .44-40 cylinder throat to barrel bore issues could be handled by something like this.
With a hollow base and a plain base pin it should work in lots of things.

With plain a base pin and a being a nose pour it should have a perfectly flat base. Could that make it a tad more accurate?

Anyway just a thought or two.

I have that mold and it is an accurate bullet! Accurate to long range as well, and also a shooter in the slow (1 in 38″) twists. Slow production-wise….. But I don’t know why a modern design multiple cavity couldn’t be engineered like they are doing now with HP molds…. Is it called Cramer-style??? Don’t know why it couldn’t be designed the same way for a nose-pour hollow base bullet. This…. I definitely would be interested in!

Not many have used this old Keith design so interest may be light. But listen to experience…….. It’s a shooter!

Thought it would be handy for those revolvers where the cylinder throat is tighter than the barrel bore.. The hollow base could expand and seal up nice as it passes from the chamber into the barrel. Then a guy could own several guns with that issue without having to go find a gunsmith to open every chamber in the cylinders of those various revolvers.

OR

for those revolvers where the chamber is huge, but your cases are sized to sammi and you don’t have special dies, or you don’t want to change your reloading set up for one gun. You could fire this and it would expand after leaving the cartridge case and seal up proper.

And its not just another Full Wad Cutter design. It’s special

I’d get in on this if it was made more like the 453423 like was mentioned in the original post. With a shorter wider nose in either 44 or 45 doesn’t matter to me, I have a use for both.

Was talking with a friend yesterday about how this would be handy for those 44-40 owners who own early guns with.427 bore and the later guns with the .429 bore.
If this were offered with a .428 option.

.358 or .360 might be handy in those homemade 1851 kirst cartridge conversions if loaded in .38 Long Colt brass? as the big bore of the stock black powder barrel is larger. Only saying this as I’ve read of folks shooting Hollowbase wadcutters in .38special brass for that application.

I think there should defenitely be a need for both a 429 and a 358 version, and perhaps more.
