My concern is it looks a lot like a 30 carbine bullet and those had problems feeding in a 300blk AR, if memory serves correctly

These would not likely feed in a .300blk ar15 being short and stubby as they are.

Could be a decent airgun bullet if sized to groove diameter or a thou under to avoid too much friction…..

I know you were trying to generate interest for a rifle bullet, but this design made a smidge bigger in diameter would be about perfect for my various .32 caliber revolvers. 

I note that there are no .32 handgun bullets in the HTC section yet.  It sure would be nice to have such a mold….

If it was done as 32 cal it could be sized down prob to .309 just fine. I do it all the time from .462 powder coated to .452

Normally I like my .32 revolver molds to drop bullets around .314, but since we are going to coat them, .312 would probably work fine.

This would be my first HTC mold (well my second, my 44 caliber one should arrive today if you believe the USPS tracking system). 

What would the pro’s and con’s of having a crimp groove be?  I ask, because I really want to add a Henry 327 lever action rifle to my gun safe this year and a crimp groove would seem to be a sensible thing to have in a lever action bullet.

I was looking at the RCBS 32-90-CM the other day thinking that if it was missing the crimp groove, it might make a nice HTC bullet?

I am using an HTC bullet in the 30-30 and don’t get bullet setback if I just give it a decent crimp.  I’d think that in a lesser recoiling firearm like a 32 you’d be fine for sure without a groove.  Just give it a crimp that is snug enough the bullet doesn’t move.

Thanks for the response.

I would prefer a crimp groove design, but with the exception of the .32 caliber wadcutter designs, getting interest levels up on relatively light .32 bullets seems to be difficult.  I was hoping maybe if this design was flexible enough to appeal to both rifle and revolver enthusiast, maybe we could get this one off the ground.
