Is there any interest in the following mold?

Lyman Bullet Mold #225415 22 Caliber (225 Diameter) 55 Grain Flat Nose Gas Check & plain base?

Evidently, Lyman shows a 45 grain version in the 3rd edition Cast bullet handbook.
Does anyone know why?

Also, if anyone has this mold and would be willing to send a couple samples to Al for measurements, it would be greatly appreciated.

This is a bullet I have wanted for my 222 Remington.

All Righty Folks – Looks like we are going to have to track down a couple of examples of this one – Old version and New version. Call in your markers and ask around . . .

Just bought a 225415 mould on ebay this afternoon and think it is the old one. It will take a few days to get it and I will make some samples to send to NOE unsized  I expect them to receive then in about 10 or 12 days and then cornmastah can do his magic. I want this to happen…would like a 5 cavity plain base. I’ll keep you posted.

Thanks for doing that.  When you send in the samples, send them in unsized and leave a note to “give to cornmastah.”  When Al gets them he will give me a call and I can pick them up and then draw them up.

Sure! Why not?  If it is a new bullet and a group buy, I don’t see why we can’t do a GC version at the same time.

teemu… if you want to see the mould in question you can see it on ebay…bring up ebay on your computer and search for “lyman 225415 mold.” When the search comes up scroll down about half way and look on the left side of the  screen and click on “sold listings”. This will show all sold in the last few months. The one sold on Feb 1st is the one I bought.
I have all my casting equipment set up and ready to go, all I need is that mould to show up  in the mail box.
I hope I don’t get in trouble for directing you to another website as the only way I could get a mould for samples was to find one and purchase it. My intention is to buy a NOE mould that has been patterned after this one. Just want everyone to understand my motives. I am a strong supporter of NOE and feel they will make a great mould that will fulfill my casting needs.

Not at all.Not my first rodeo on Ebay. I’ve been hunting old Ideal and Ohaus molds there. And have some succes. But yes most of my molds are from NOE.

But in  #reply 13 user 25 Remington  linked picture and there was old Ideal or old Lyman version on that mold. That is  which I’m interested because I can buy new version almost any mold selling store. But that old Ideal… No harm done to get NOE’s version of that model. That older version is harder find than new version.
I thought in some point that there was somebody sended samples  that old version but cornmastah never received those..
