This is how I process larger batches of scrap lead using a cheap harbor freight weed burning torch, some cinder blocks, & a dutch oven.  I’ve tried camp stoves and such but couldn’t get enough heat (BTU’s).  The torch seems to do the job well and inexpensively.  I have not tried a turkey fryer but have heard that some people use them.  If you guys have good ways to do it, please let everyone know.

How long do you wait between pouring and dumping your ingots? By the way, I’m 65 and DO NOT move as fast as you do.

I usually dump them as soon as the lead “freezes.”  When the molds are cold/cooler, the lead solidifies pretty quickly (like within 10 seconds or so).  Once the molds heat up a bit, it takes a little longer (like 20-30 seconds or so).  If the molds get too hot, I cool them by setting them on a damp towel for a minute or so.
