So I picked up my first mould which is the .356 pellet mould and alternate weight pins.  I have a hot plate that I just bought and if my point and shoot thermometer is right I could only get my mould up to about 330 after 45 minutes on the hot plate.

I know I need to cycle it several more times but will that be high enough temp?

Also, the weight pins are super hard to get to release from the mould due to the retaining clip being so tight.  I read where someone had bent theirs to help, is this common practice?

Yes, you adjust the fit of the pins by bending the slotted holder down if they are too tight, or up if they are loose…. You can the pins to tilt out of the cavity when the mould is opened…. but not be able to rattle around vertically when it is closed…. Also, make sure the holder is not tightened up dragging on the pin on one side…. When the mould is closed you should see a thin sliver of daylight both sides of the narrow part of the pin in the slot….

Ok, so I bent the retainers.  Now what about the temperature issue?
