Looking for some load suggestions for the above, preferably with unique or power pistol.  Looking for charge and overall cartridge length.  Would consider trying to obtain other powders if necessary.  Mine weigh in about 230 with the large hollow point and 240 with the small hollow point.

I have the small HP version and find that it works well in .45 acp if you seat just past the crimp groove and taper crimp to .469 or so. 4.5 gr of 231 with a Rem 2 1/2 primer. Cycles reliably with good accuracy. Cast of #2 Lyman it expands well in damp mulch. Same bullet in .45 Colt over 6.0 of Titegroup works real nice. It’s a good solid load for the SAA and weaker designs. Im sure it would only be better with a little more oomph in a Ruger or other similar strength boomer.

Ken Waters highly recommended 7.0 gr of 800X with cast bullets in the 45ACP.  He found it worked very well with weights 185-230 gr.  If interested, see Pet Loads July 1990.

I have been running 6.1 gr. Unique,  I am away from the bench so I cannot remember the OAL.  I did adjust the OAL so it would run through my Kimber, Sig 220, and the cylinder of my Ruger Blackhawk.  This load shoots better than other bullet or load I have tried in the 45 ACP.
