When I want to use a bullet as cast, i.e. without reducing its size, I tend to set the checks even larger.
E.g. when I use the Lyman 160gn .311 SIL bullet, which drops at .3105, I tend to seat the checks and lube at .312. Works for me, and helps ensure that the case does not size the bullet since the harder and larger check precedes it into the neck.
Does anyone else do this? Has anyone ever done a comparison?
