So, Al… If offered at .451-.452, bored from the base, using the sprue plate to cut a nice flat hunting meplate, in a tall single cavity block, with multiple shallow grooves (to grip paper), and a base plug fitted to a screw bolt going through a threaded plate to adjust length/weight… should be a cake-walk, huh?
Where else can a caster dream away like this?
Heck, a matching base-plug could be offered for shallow cup bases (some BP shooters) while the flat could be adjusted between grooves to produce full diameter or quasi-rebates for different tail-twisting preferences.
1 mould for multiple throats… NOW I’m having fun!  :)

Getting more and more request for Paper-patch
Could run something like this in a single cavity block with our Lyman type pin holder

Can play with the meplate and nose shape some if we need too

          Outstanding!
A single cavity tall block that could work in multiple weights and fit in multiple throat configurations… I’d have to move this to the top of the “Want List”.
          Thanks for the drawings, Al.

My earlier suggestion of affixing a threaded plate to the bottom of the mould for an adjustable rod and lock-nut with the base-plug attached so that set weights/lengths could be used would still seem preferrable to me… A set-up like a standard Lyman core mould.
The main difference, if I understand what’s being said, is that the base plug remains in the mould as the bullets are dropped. The removeable plugs, like Lyman uses in their hollow points and hollow bases, require the plug to be taken out each time the mould is opened to release a bullet… Simply a convenience issue as long as we’re talking flat bases or shallow cup bases. The removeable pin would be necessary for deep cups, or even hollow skirts.

i would be in for a multiple cavity of this one. this would work perfect for my muzzleloader in a sabot.

another option would be an rg mold with different length inserts would be the ticket.

I certainly would be interested in something like this, especially if the weight could be adjusted for use in different rifles.

This would be the cats pajamas for my Ruger #1.  I would hesitate only due to it showing a marked preference to .453″ – .454″ diameter in a 50-50 alloy.

A plate that holds the pins in place is a great idea but it takes additional steps and parts.
We can do a Lyman type pin with no real changes to cost or manufacturing.
We can do a fixed pin but it will take some changes to both, cost and manufacturing.

That’s the biggest reason we are only offering a single cavity adjustable mould.

I understand completely, Al… I’m just dreaming out loud. The single cavity adjustable is the meat of the idea.
I’d expect a cost difference, but I do place value on ease of use and convenience.
I’m in, regardless of the final design that’s settled on.
I would actually be hoping that any really neat features incorporated in the final product would be adopted immediately to Paper-Patch moulds in many different calibers… I think I’d be looking at variations for .375 and .35 calibers in short order, here at home. I’m sure others have favorites to add to that list.
The NOE Adjustable Paper-Patch Mould… Has a nice ring to it, don’tcha think?  :)

could the same cherry be used to cut different calibers?

We just need enough interest to make it worth Al’s time, Jason…There’s 4 discussing it here, and I’ve talked to 2 others about joining in.
May Al can give us an idea about the amount of interest needed here to move this to the “Active” sub-forum.
