i would like to ask if there exist some interrest  for a Pritchett Mould  with larger Diameter  568  to 571

For my personal issue i have a PH Enfield with a .582 Bore and could not use the .566 Mould

i imaging that there are a lot of  Zoli  Zouave Owners or other Italian Replikas with largers Bores would have some interest in this

i was asking Al in a request i send yesterday

maybe some interesst are present to make this run possibile

      thx Klaus

        Don’t see why a 0.566 wouldn’t work.

The best and final Pritchett design for the 0.577″ bore was 0.550″ that is 0.027″ under bore size. With your 0.582″ bore and a 0.566″ bullet that is 0.016″ under bore size so good to go.

Pritchetts were always designed to be well under bore size never meant to be a bore fit.

          Hi Dromia,

i know that it don`t fit to boresize

actually i use a subsititut  Lee Trad. Bullet and sized it down to .570

Talked to Rob Deans  some times ago and he advise me for having  good accuracy  i need to have a Mould .571.

have you some experiences with the .566 in this lager bores ?

          any input are welcome

          thx Klaus

Never shot a PH as large as the one you have, I’ve had dozens through my hands over the years and have never seen one with that big bore size so never shot a larger PH.

My PHs, I currently have six. all shoot best with the 0.550″ Pritchett in their 0.577″ bores so well under size does shoot best for me and I have tried many Minie and Pritchett type moulds including a bespoke Brooks. Some do shoot well but as I say the 0.550″ does the business for me in my guns.

thx a lot for your information

the former owner of this PH had  taken the opinion that his Rifle are a bad  shooter and so he beg Ueli Eichelberger a swiss shot and Barrel and Riflemaker to refresh his Rifle.
I talked to Ueli and the confirmed that he refresh the Field and Lands and polish finaly  without eliminating  the  progressive turn.
He made a good job but the bore diameter encreased from .577 up to .582

with 581. Minies 545 grs  out of a Hensel Mould  it`s a tack driver but it is not my way, i prefer the  Historical Correct Way  of the Enfield Paper Cartridge and the smooth sided bullet.

If you prefer historically correct then 0.027″ under bore size is correct.
