Looks like Ellie Mae has decided on 54grs of IMR4350 for a hunting load under the RD 360-230 in 35 Whelen. IIRC velocity is around  2200 fps, will fire a ten shot group over my Chrony soon for confirmation. Seems to be very accurate, may be my first MOA CB load. If not it will be very close.

Hey Tx, that load should make piggies into ham and bacon real good! Congrats on finding a great load!

Congrats on a good load. That should get the job done on anything you choose to hunt, plus a good target load!
Imr 4350 is my go to powder in the whelen and shoots well with All my NOE 35 Cal. bullets.
The 360230 is a nail driver indeed!

Bullet and load turned out to be an excellent hunting combo. Four shots (one for “insurance” on a deer) from two different rifles and three critters down. Two nice deer and one big old ugly hog. Excellent performance on all three critters, broke both shoulders on one deer so there was a bit of bloodshot meat. Hog was 200# or so and it dropped after a quick 180 turn and kicked about three times. Went in the left side of his chest headed for his right hip but did not exit. Bullets are heat treated, 50/50 + a dab of tin, GC’d, about 2250fps. Awesome bullet, did exactly what I wanted it to do. I like putting a “smackdown” on big hogs and this bullet does it very well.
