A little info to post about sizing these for a LW barrel . For about a year I’ve been tinkering on and off with a regulated BT 65 with a Lothar Walther barrel . At first the groups were good but had too many flyers , almost a third of all shots . I’ve got two sizers for these little pills one at .221 (.2213 measured ) and the other at .216 ( .2169 measured ) .The first groups with the flyers were sized to .2213 which are .0003 larger than grove diameter. I sized 100 to .2169 which are .002 larger than land diameter and headed off to my “range “ after a few sight in shots with a 20 mph gusty cross wind . I managed to shoot ten shots in 2” at 75 yards . I think what’s happening with the barrel is there is too much displacement of lead with the 12 grove design . I’ve been having the same flyers in a .25 cal and I’ve got a new sizer for them at .002 over land diameter. Hope the weather works out today so I can try both and take some pics of my groups .

The LW barrels are choked…. Slugs seem to perform better when sized for the muzzle rather than the breech…. Generally with choked barrels a thou or so under the groove diameter at the muzzle seems to be the sweet spot….

Thanks for the input, the more information we collect about shooting slugs in airguns, the better it will be for everyone….

Bob , chokes are removed from both rifles . I posted this on the GTA also . Will give a full report when I get back from the “range “ . Heading there now with the .25 with a variety of sizes.

Not really a great improvement but I think I’m on the right track . Again the weather was not cooperating , extremely gusty . I shot two full mags of the go to pellet for this gun JSB 34 gr MK1 and they did not do well in this wind , the BBt actually did a lot better . There is more than one full mag on paper here due to the wind .
            Details,
            51 gr sized to .2522
            17.7 twist LW barrel
820 fps average over 9 shots with ES of 15 fps
These were actually sized to .004 over bore/ land diameter .
