There was a thread on CastBoolit forum that was discussing a Teflon plated sprue plate….is something like that in development? If so, when can we expect a product review? Such as cost, and as a replacement for moulds we already have or only on new mould purchases? Seems like CB forum was excited….hope there is something to it.

It was offered for a while as an upgrade to the sprue plate on new purchases when you ordered a new mould.

I upgraded several moulds when I purchased them and it worked great.

It appears to be dropped at the moment on the new store website options.

Hopefully it will be added back into the options as the new store website comes on line.

if you go to the following link you can still get the teflon coated sprue plates that are still in stock for the moulds that you already have.

Be sure to check the Caliber for the number of cavities that you mould has to pick the right sprue plate…

In case the link below does not open directly from this reply it is under Specialty Moulds – Blank Moulds and Parts.

If enough interest is shown for the upgrade option by requesting the teflon coated sprue plates on the forum by the individuals who want the Teflon Coated Sprue Plate Upgrades…

Then N.O.E. may put the upgrade option back on the order pages for the moulds.

As it stands right now the teflon coated sprue plates can still be had as replacement parts.

I hope that this intel helps.

I have a few molds with the teflon sprue plate and it is nice.  The sprue falls right off the plate and the teflon seems to take the heat just fine.  You also don’t have to worry about lubing the underside of the sprue plate when casting, just a tad of lube on the hinge and that’s all.

Just bought a mould that had the option of having a teflon sprue plate… They are wonderful…. Al had mentioned to me by email that he had planned to do this on all of the future mould sales…
May one ask if that upgrade option will become available for all new orders, & if so … will that be forthcoming in the near future?

            Take Care, & Stay Safe…
