I was just posting in regard to seating GCs utilizing an NOE TP holder … when it occurred to me that there are cast bullet shooters who strictly prefer Saeco over Lyman…

It would not take much to drill and tap the current Lyman version to create a Saeco thread on the Lyman version TP…

There may even be enough residual metal left over on the current basic TP holder design … to drill and tap all the way through to eliminate the need for a bottoming tap to be utilized.

Plus one will save the second drilling operation of the set screw hole on the side of the TP holder … plus the cost of the needed set screw to secure the Lyman TP into the TP holder …

The Saeco threads would do the securing of the TP to the TP holder for you…

That way those who prefer Saeco TPs will not also have to purchase Lyman TP’s just to seat things like GC’s.

      Just a thought…

I use a Saeco sizer and use a lyman TP by placing a gob of lube on the uppermost stud of the top punch and push it up where the punch goes. This will hold the TP in position. Have 4 Saeco sizers and it works for all of them. Have lube/sized many thousands that way.

          Thank You…

It was simply a thought for those who might also utilize a standard reloading press, & the NOE tooling for the sizing of potentially powder coated cast bullet products …

It was primarily aimed at those newer casters who are just getting into the game, & who might also have some SAECO TPs lying around … or maybe even inherited … to be able to utilize those items to seat GC’s.

          https://noebulletmolds.com/site/shop/sizing-tools/bushing-push-through-size-die/push-through-size-die-body/001-push-through-size-die-body/

This NOE sizer die set in addition to the NOE TP holder … I tend to believe was meant for those newer cast product reloaders who might simply have a standard press, & or wish to powder coat, & thus have no real need for a second or separate Saeco lubri sizer…. nor wish to utilize the method that you have just offered …

Saeco TPs also tend to be one of the last items that are left over in stock …

I do sincerely thank you for your thoughts on the matter … & hope that others also will also post their opinions on the matter … or have the item as a potential option for down the line to be able to go both ways in the future.

Many of the younger & or newer members (who might possibly be on a budget) might want a Saeco TP holder down the line… to be able to also utilize what they might find that they have on hand in more ways than one…

Thus the original query & thought … on the matter …

I do sincerely congratulate you on the method that you have chosen and have adapted for utilizing a Saeco lubri sizer or sizers to utilize the Lyman TP’s that you have …
