I recently purchased this mold but did not get the gas checks to go with it. What size of checks do I need .45 or .458? I will be powder coating and pushing them close to max speed.

        The 458 size.

BTW, I have shot hundreds of those bullets and think that mold is great.

Thanks, that’s the size I had in the cart. It’s my first gas check mould so I wasn’t too sure. I’ve been shooting the 460-350 RF bullets and wanted to go heavier. Now I think I want it in hollowpoint too.

The hollow points obliterate water jugs.  They are fun.

I wish I could just send both of my 4 cavity moulds ( 350 and 405) in and get them set up for hollow points. I think they’d be great for black bears.

Well, I would think that you’d want more penetration if hunting bears–so the bullet molds you have would work best.  I don’t think I would use a hollow point for bear hunting.  But the hollow points are fun to blow stuff up with.

With the hollow point pins that come with it you can also make regular bullets too. Incredible design I think.
