Would it be possible to get a 360-245± bullet with this profile? I think I would like to try one of this RD style. This one works just so well in my .30 that I’d love to have a .35 caliber of it.  ;D

Interest? Thoughts? Reasons it wouldn’t work?  8)

Probably be good bullet in the Whelen with it’s longer neck than most 35’s. It’s been a while since I’ve loaded for my 35 Remingtons, but as I recall the 190 fills the neck without having the gas check down in the case proper. It would probably work pretty well in my long throated 350 Remington magnum. I guess it could also work in the 358 Winchester depending on the particular rifles’ throat length.

The Whelen was exactly where I wanted to put it!  ;D

It has also been mentioned that this might be nice in 220-225gr.

I would be interested in it as a 220ish or 245.

I need a good mold for the 356 Win, if you could keep the base in the neck. looks good to me! ;D

So are you trying to just make a longer RD 190 RF?

looks like your using the Ranch Dog 311-165 RF as pattern?

                comparing to RD 359-190 RF

So your going to loose one crimp groove right off the git-go.  And are you going to grow it in length or just girth?

Except it would be a SC instead of a TL and only have one crimp groove.

                    Yes. There is more interest.
I’d also love to see a .340″ RD around 230-240 grains. I’d think Al would very likely be able to utilize the same tooling for both diameters… Maybe Al can shed some light on the subject.

I’m looking for a 35 Whelen boolit a bit heavier than the 359-190, something in the 250gr range just sounds right.

I think I’d like to try this bullet in Ol’ Ugly, she’s going hunting with the RD 359-190 this year but will resume the quest for a heavier bullet in a few months. I like the flexibility of the 2nd crimp groove, tho. My 35 Rem (Scopekiller) likes the top groove, Ol’ Ugly likes the second one.

I would love to have one. My 35 Rem Contender like the heavies and is blessed with a long throat. 356 Winchester 94 shoots the heavies well, just won’t work with a really long nose. I will wait for the drawing to be posted, then decide.
A pic with both loaded with 250 gr Bullets.

I think he’s working on a 245gr design that he’s going to post soon and we can see how many like it.  ;D

I may be wrong but I think (for my purposes anyway) that a bullet in the 250gr range is about optimal for the 35 Whelen, this 245gr design looks good to me. It may be just a tad heavy for the 35 Rem and 358 Win but I’d be very interested in trying one in Ol’ Ugly.

I started a thread about your proposal over on the CB forum, Beagle333. As we both know the 35 Whelen has plenty of fans over there. I hope you don’t mind, I’d like your idea to become reality in time for me to be pouring some 360-245’s as soon as hunting season is over. Hope the CB folks don’t mind me promoting NOE’s site a bit over there, would like to see a few more CB members over here.

Hey, that’s great! The more the merrier. If we can nail down a design and get 10 folks on the list, I have seen these GB’s happen and be in your mailbox in a few weeks! Anytime in the next 3 months and it’d be useable for the next deer season here.  8)

The factory throat in my Ruger #1 is quite large so I would have to see a drawing of the proposed bullet in a .35 Whelen SAMMI drawn chamber before I commit to this buy..
