Gentleman…. I have PM’d each of you individually, but here is the content of the PM as well….

Please be advised that just as in the case of the .22 cal and .25 cal BBT, the .30 cal airgun moulds will be available in two diameters…. The smaller size, as shown on the drawing, which is a 0.300″ nose and a 0.302″ drive band is the default, and all your orders have been so marked in the Group Buy thread…. If you wish the larger size, which will be 0.303″ nose and 0.305″ drive band, please go to the Group Buy thread and change your order….

          http://noebulletmolds.com/smf/index.php/topic,1320.0.html

The reason for this change is the lack of standardization in airgun barrels…. For example, Lothar Walther state on their website that their .30 cal airgun barrel is 0.298″ lands and 0.306″ grooves…. Daystate call their rifles a “.303 caliber”, and I have no idea how that relates to the actual diameter…. However, now you have a choice, if you wish you can order your NOE mould in 0.303/0.305″ if you wish…. If you want the smaller size, as per the drawing (which is the proper one if you are using the 26″ twist TJ’s barrel), you need do nothing, it is 0.294″ lands and 0.300″ grooves…. Only if you wish the larger size do you need to take action at this time, and specify that you want the 0.303/0.305″ diameter mould….

In addition, sizing bushings are now available in suitable diameters for .30 cal airguns…. http://noebulletmolds.com/NV/index.php?cPath=104_413

Thanks, Al, for making the larger size available for those who may want it…. and also for making sizing bushings in airgun calibers as well….

          Regards….

          Bob Sterne

I went out and measured my .30’s with the following results.  Using precision pins the ID of the lands on the P30 .30 Spa was .299″.  The Hatsan .30 was .3015″.  I’m signed up for the .300-.302, might be too small for the Hatsan, will wait and see.  Regards, Tom

Is it to late for me to change my order to an RG4 from the 3 cav. aluminum?
If not, please change my order.

I would suggest that for both of those barrels, the larger size might be better…. Normally, you want the bullets the same as the groove diameter, plus or minus…. The groove diameter will be larger than what you measured, by anything from 0.004-0.008″, I would think…. Frankly, I am shocked by the Hatsan, that is larger than a .308 cal barrel. they have a 0.300″ land diameter….  ::)

All orders can still be changed at this point….

                Bob

Yes Bob, the Hatsan .30 is a microgroove type barrel.  I had to ask in the forums for the twist rate, couldn’t get traction with patches to check twist.  Regards, Tom
