300 Blk Bullet for dummies (easy to cast, powder coat, and load bullet for subs)

I’ve been thinking about drawing up a heavy bullet for 300 blk shooters which would be designed in such a way that feeding is not affected by how thick the powdercoating goes on. So, hitek, spray PC, or shake and bake PC would all be easy to use and not affect feeding and chambering of the bullet in an AR15. Anybody interested in such a bullet?

My drawings are mostly done in crayon, the more technical ones done on the shop slab with soapstone (or in the driveway dust with a stick) so I’m not much help.

I added a small taper between the nose and the main driving band, decreased the bluntness of the round nose. A gas check shank can be an option, but I’m not sure about putting in tumble lube grooves. The bullet will lose weight or have to grow longer if we add the mini lube grooves. I don’t really want the bullet to be any lighter, and many people prefer the slick sides for easy casting. Here is a quick updated drawing:

Both look like decent options, but I’m more interested in the HTC PB version. I’ll most likely be shooting this suppressed, and I’m pretty leery of running GCs through the can.

Yes, this bullet is probably going to skip the group buy phase and go into production. Waiting for Al to catch up on current group buys, then should be able to get this mold cut.

It might be a future possibility, but the design behind this bullet was to make a bullet that would be easy to cast, coat, load and shoot in the 300 BLK ar15’s. I think I might try this bullet as a heavier 308 or 30-06 bullet too, but primarily in the 300blk AR’s.
