Participant::Needing molds for my various pocket autos, and would prefer to tumble lube for this application. . .therefore Ranch Dogs seem like just the ticket. http://www.ranchdogoutdoors.com has the prints for both the 75 grain flat nosed .314 and the 100 grain flat nosed .358.
I’d be a player for a 4 cavity solid for each. Anyone else?

::Both my wife and I are lucky enough to own the Taurus TCP 732B chambered in 32 Auto and coupled with this bullet, what a sweet combination!
I’ve been doing some load work over the last two days with my TCP 738B and the 358-100, switching my powder choice temporarily, from Universal to Unique as I want to use up an old cannister of Hercules. There is a fellow that is also going to do some shooting with it from the new Taurus Curve.

Here are a couple of loading suggestions from a guy that uses Lee equipment. Use the NOE 38SPEXP, Powder Through Expander, to expand the case while you drop the powder. You will eliminate runout issues as well as case wear expanding rather than flaring with the Lee plug. We desperately need to have Al make a 32 Auto Powder through Expander plug part of this buy! Currently, the only plug NOE has is the 32AP, which I use in a side operation but it sure would work better including this with the powder drop. While adding the links for the plugs, I noticed that the 38SPEXP but it really needs to be available for this buy. I feel that strongly about the value it adds.

::Finally, I don’t care for bevelled bullet designs, mainly because too much is applied in the cut of the mold. I do think that the NOE Bullet Base Chamfer Tool is a must have as well (Manual or power). The subject short cases are very rigid due to their length and will shave lead during bullet seating. The NOE tool provides “slight” bevel that causes the bullet to slip squarely right into the case. It is worth the cost and the small amount of effort to do the work. Also been waiting a long while for Al to restock his Bullet Gripper, it sure would make grabbing the 314-75 easier and I have a bunch of .2X caliber bullets that I just cannot work with any more.
Al and I use the same design and the draft might be there and just not presented in the drawing, it is controlled by a check box. The only other thing that I see is the BC. The software designer, Tom Myers, suggests using 50% of the meplat as the BC for the bullet and my actual two velocity testing has convinced me that Tom’s calculation is correct. I show the BC for the 314-75 as .108 and the 358-100 as .109. Kind of making the silk purse out of hogs ear over the BC for a bullet that is probably going to be shot at 21′. Speaking of hogs, I might be the only guy that has killed them with 32 & 380 Auto. I was trapping them, sorting them so that I could cull them by size at 21′. All my bullets except the 25 Auto have been tested on feral hogs in the 150# range and all have simply shocked me how quick the critter is dispatched with a broadside, chest cavity hit. The terminal response from both the 32 & 380 Auto was immediate.

::RD, I find your version of the Thompson/LaGarde tests very interesting. What kind of pig penetration are you getting on the pocket auto calibers?
The 32 & 380 Auto did not exit, but caused tissue damage on the interior wall of the opposite rib cage. The lungs that overlap the heart along with the top of the heart and aorta artery exiting the heart were destroyed.

Participant::I recently picked up a used Lee 356-95 6 cav, and have been
fighting the urge to buy a steel sprue plate and cam for it.
But I can’t bring myself to do that…….it’s a Lee.I realized the best answer is the real thing – a RD 358-100 made by NOE.
So I checked to see if there is any progress, and there is!

I’m wishing the base band was a bit thicker to make it
105gr but that is just me wanting to use it for 9mm also.I’m in for the .380 design for certain sure.
