      My absolute favorite bullet for 38 Special is the true classic Ideal 358311.
      I think this would be a really nice addition to the line-up.
      And I would also like to be able to get a GC version of this proven performer for use in higher pressure rounds like 357 mag and others.
      That would be great.

        My Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook No. 2 has a photo but no dimensions. It is very similar to your PB version with, perhaps, a bit less (shorter) base band. Lyman has produced this design for decades. As worn cherries were replaced I would not be surprised if there were 5, 6 or more variations out there. This design has a reputation for producing accuracy comparable to wadcutters, albeit without the neat round holes in the target paper.  TJ

          On the whole the drawing looks great. There are a few things that I would consider.

          1. The front band of the original is undersized. I know that is not fashionable now. But it could be one of the reasons the design works so well in a variety of guns.
          2. The crimp groove is slightly wider and the grease groove slightly narrower originally. That’s no big deal. But the grease groove is rather wide to begin with so if the crimp groove can’t be wider I would prefer to add a little to the middle drive band instead.
          3. The gas check shank could possibly be made a little longer (like .080) to make some room for displaced material and less risk of interference with the check.

          Just some of my thoughts. What do you think?

                  If you could tweak your drawing? Crimp groove .060, grease groove .100.

                    Here is the modified drawing, increased diameter to .360, changed crimp groove to .060, and grease groove to .100.  Any other changes?

                              That will be up to Al (Swede).  I will see if he can do that in the same group buy.
