Most airgunners will already know me…. I’m a PCP nut and for the last 2 years have been designing “Bob’s Boattails” for airgun use…. My latest design, the 200 gr. “Whiteout” .308 cal recently placed 1st and 2nd at the Extreme Benchrest Contest in Arizona in the 200 yard Pro Division….

Hang onto your hat!…. Lots more designs to come…. I hope many of them prove popular enough to warrant production….

BTW, I am just a unpaid designer/consultant here, I don’t work for NOE…. but happy to provide any info I can to further boattail development for airguns….

I really hope this works out. The bullet selection for next year’s EBR would be a lot better!

Should these bullets get others attention also? There might be working bullets other guns as well….Not just airguns..

I understand that cast boattails are a problem in powderburners because the hot gasses tend to melt/erode the exposed lead boattail…. I don’t know if that is true or not, but that’s the rumour….

I actually reload my Blackout with cast bullets and unless I’m trying to push the round supersonic  (more powder = more heat) I don’t find a need for gas checks. Unfortunately the Whiteout round doesn’t seat very well in a PB case due to the slim middle section between the bands.

That would be a similar problem with all these designs, as they all share that feature to reduce bore friction in our airguns that operate with such low pressure compared to a PB….
