Last year I started working on reloading references for the NOE bullet designs, it has gone slower than expected because of the limits of my time but also because I needed to come up with templates that would make the Load Note sheets consistent across all the types of designs and contain as much information as possible for the bullet caster. Al and I think that we have a good format that addresses as many considerations as possible when generating the data so it is time to get started. A quick look at his store’s pages confirms exactly what an undertaking this will be so rather than work from A to Z, I thought I would ask as to what the immediate need of NOE’s customer base is concerning the information to get your bullets out the barrel.

In order to understand how the suggested loads are generated and how the pages are formatted, please read:  Pressure Notes.

Here is what the formatted Load Note pages look like and how the information is presented: 378-275 H&H Mag

If you recommend a bullet design, please include what cartridge you using with the design.

                  You’re welcome.

I made a few changes to the worksheet, just to provide a bit more info. Will detail them in the morning here.

                      mph911,

Download your Load Notes sheet again. I found a small formatting error in the header of the page I updated yesterday. The corrected sheet will have today’s date, 04/12/2016. There is no change to the data, just the bullet and cartridge info.

I didn’t get the next data put together today, will be back on it tomorrow. Based on a suggestion, I will now include Trail Boss data as part of the Load Notes sheet. That data requires a separate calculation but it is quite easy. Starting with the 360-310-FN data, it is included. If you would like it incorporated into an existing sheet, just let me know and I will repost it.

The minimum barrel length column represents nothing more than the (approximate) minimum barrel length required to achieve the specified velocity estimate, correct?

                                    You’re welcome,

The minimum barrel length is the point at which the subject powder is no longer efficient. More that 20% is being blown out of the barrel unburnt. Both pressure and velocity are not valid. Those two projections will not be higher but it is doubtful they will meet their mark.
