Well a loon could get a bit leery here thinking he is the only person in the world wanting a quality mould for a BP revolver conical.

Surely this isn’t a strange request.

I’ve posted links on BP forums but still only lonely old me.  :(

I’m interested, but a bit tapped out at the moment after picking up the 2 Pritchett molds.  Wife might get mad at me.  :)

Also, I’m not finding conical bullets to shoot as accurately in reproduction BP revolvers as I find round ball.  I have heard, but do not know, that the rifling in the reproductions is more amenable to round ball.  I’ve been trying a Lee conical mold that came with an 1858 I bought from a friend.  I don’t know the number off the top of my head.

I would enjoy making authentic paper cartridges for my BP revolvers though.  Can’t use them in N-SSA competition though.

It looks nice, but I have a Ruger Old Army so need a larger bullet.

As to the accuracy, balls seem to do better closer in but as these pistols were originally designed to hit man sized targets out to 100 yards then I suspect that the conical could have had the edge in this context.

Only need seven more chaps, how a bout a bit of proselytising for this mould on places that you visit?

                      I’d take a .451″ round ball mould  :P

I suggest that you start a separate thread then as this one is for a conical.

I’d go for one, a 4 or 5 cavity aluminum mould.  I’ve been shooting the Lee conicals with good success, but hate 2 cavities moulds almost as much as I hate single cavity moulds.

Concur, I shoot a lot of round ball and four plus cavity moulds would be most welcome.

may as well hollow point it, too. at BP velocity it should do quite well in HP version

Lets see if we can breathe a tad more life into this one, we have six interested. There has to be at least another four up for this mould.

Come on cap and conical/ball shooters let us make this viable.
