RN 77- 85 gr. for .30 Mauser, 30 Luger, Tokarev, .32 acp, .30 cal plinkers?

Something Round Nosed like the 311252.

Maybe one lube groove instead of two small ones.
I’m even open for a HTC version/option at this point

      Two cavities ain’t enough.

Could maybe orbit it out to .315 for some .32 mag fans, but it might have a smidge of a flat point. Not that it would matter if you HP it.. lol that’d be a zinger

      Cast in the .32 H & R Magnum

Anyway, I would really like a great quality 4 cav. RN mold for my mauser and such. Hope others might show interest.

      Thanks,

If the tooling was cut slightly smaller, it would make a good bullet for PCP airgun use as well…. We need between 0.300″-0.305″ as cast to cover the non-standard bores…. I would be interested if those sizes were available…. I will link to this thread on the Airgun Forums to see if we can generate some interest….

I’d be in for a PB 5 cav.

            Since we’re still discussing.

            Cast for the 32 acp:
            http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?74133-cast-for-the-32-acp

I like the looks of this one pictured below except I’d like a tad more base thickness for those rounds with more pop than a .32acp… on the HTC type it wouldn’t matter?
With the weight he has of (73.8 to 74.1 gr.) I would think we could have more base thickness and get to  77-85. single lube groove. Might make that lube groove a bit deeper too?

Anyway the discussion is still open.

LEE mold mod: (73.8 to 74.1 gr.)

If someone can get me some bullets or some measurements, I can draw it up and we can tweak it as needed.

Just send em to the NOE shop, but include a little note that shows the forum topic.  If Al is too busy to draw them up, I can always swing by the shop and pick up the samples and throw together a drawing.  Just let me know when you send them and when you think they should arrive.

ok cool, I sent a message to Al to keep an eye out for them.  If he is too busy to draw it up, I can swing by the shop and pick them up and get a drawing put together.

I picked up the bullet samples today.  Which bullet do you want me to draw up first?

I’m leaning on just lighting up the 311-100-2R. (kinda like the modified LEE above)
                          I like the 2R nose.
Make the lube groove a tad deeper so it won’t wipe off if sized smaller than .311
Thicken the base (modified LEE above)
Though that may make it nose heavy?

I do like the more defined step from driving band to nose of the 311252. So maybe the 311252 with a single groove instead of two small ones would be nice too.

Either one as both nose profiles work.

Just draw up what ya can with a Round nose, Single lube groove of good character, and comes in around 77-85gr.

I take a more purist view; I’d like to see a straight copy of the Lyman mould.
But I’ll take a 5 cav PB of whatever the group decides upon.

Here is the preliminary drawing of the 311252, I think I need to play with the nose a little to get it perfect:

You’d mentioned that you would want to change the lube groove to only one, or maybe go HTC.  What changes do you want to do to this drawing?

                                OAL looks ok.

How about a .090 thick base band. (Mausers, Tok’s, and .32 mags get with it pretty hard)
.080 wide lube groove. (I do like the round lube for easy mold release, but if others want square that’s cool too.)
That would leave a front band with .074 of COAL adjustment when loading?

All else is looking mighty fine.
