RN 77- 85 gr. for .30 Mauser, 30 Luger, Tokarev, .32 acp, .30 cal plinkers?

Something Round Nosed like the 311252.

Maybe one lube groove instead of two small ones.
I’m even open for a HTC version/option at this point

      Two cavities ain’t enough.

Could maybe orbit it out to .315 for some .32 mag fans, but it might have a smidge of a flat point. Not that it would matter if you HP it.. lol that’d be a zinger

      Cast in the .32 H & R Magnum

Anyway, I would really like a great quality 4 cav. RN mold for my mauser and such. Hope others might show interest.

      Thanks,

Seems to me like 0.313″ is pretty large for a gun in .308 cal, is it not?…. It would have to be sized at least twice?….

I’ve sized .313 bullets to .311 to shoot in my .308 and 300blk rifles.  Bob, would you have to size them to .308 to shoot in an air gun?

The most likely size for airguns with a .308 barrel is 0.307-0.309″…. half a thou can make a big difference, and more than about 0.001″ over loses a lost of velocity…. I have had a 0.227″  bullet get stuck in a 0.224″ barrel….

              ok, hummm

Would the HTC/PC version need to be made a bit smaller as the added coating thickness would size it up a thousandth or so?
Does an air gun need a lube groove?

Could the HTC/PC version be made in such a way that it would size uncoated for air guns, and coated for .312-ish?

Just asking as I’m only a few weeks into PC and never been around big league air guns.

I’m just curious why 0.313″ was chosen…. Most .30 cal bullets are 0.309″, are they not?…. It seems to be bullets for the .32’s that are 0.313-0.314″…. It the major market is for .32’s then if makes sense, I guess….

This bullet is for the .32 cal type handguns.

Fair enough, I was too focused on the “.30 cal plinkers” part of the heading….

                      rsterne,

Is .311 small enough for you? If we can agree on that then .311 is fine with me for .30 Mauser. .30 Luger, and .30 Plinkers.

We can always have it orbited larger at a later date GB for the .313-316 folks. With MAYBE only a microscopic FP being formed by the larger the orbit of the cherry.
seeing as many .32 fans might want an RG mold anyway. that sound like a non issue.. lol. or a whole new cherry.

So if .311 will do you. I’m down with that.

How about you cornmastah? one more time at the drawing table?

Since I haven’t seen any other airgunners expressing even a glimmer of an interest…. I don’t want to influence the GB…. Please proceed according to the will of the majority….  8)

                        A poll of three possibilities, 0.309, 0.311 and 0.313″ might make sense?….

I don’t need this light .30 cal but….. Just example that RCBS #82061 .32-98-SWC mold which was made NOE’s version also. Orginal RCBS drops something between .314-.315 but it can be sized easily to .308 or .309 . And It don’t look like flying trashcan after that  ;D  And it has still left grease grooves and rings and works like a dream in some Airguns.
I’ve noticed that some airgunners (not meaning You Bob) thinks that bullets could only sized down like .001-.003… Ok that depends also bullet model if it has only shallow rings and grease grooves. I’ve sized Bob’s BT bullet to .255—> .249 and it still looks like Bob’s BT.

Ok some may think why bother to size so much…Well You could get easily molds and if that could be done why not? It is only takes more pulls trought different sizers and thats it.  Just my humble 0.02€

I agree, teemu, you certainly CAN size down that far…. What is your experience as to how far you can size in one step?…. I have found that 0.003″ works OK, although I prefer only having to size down 0.002″ per die…. If I need to go 0.004″ to 0.006″ I always use two steps…. I find that PB bullets start getting a flashing around the base if you go “too far”…. but it seems less noticeable in GC or BT bullets, I guess the lead tends to flow into the shoulder behind the last band…. I only size from the nose, pushing on the base….
