Any interest in a 30 caliber RG2 or RG4 mold dropping a 200 grain or so hollow point? My intention would be to get a bullet that maximizes killing power out of a suppressed 308 or 300 Blackout. Having a relatively heavy bullet with a hollow point would help make it a more humane killer, especially if cast from a softer alloy and if the hollow point were relatively deep. In a perfect world we could get an RG4 with 2 PB and 2 GC cavities.

Any interest? There’s a somewhat similar group buy running from another maker but I don’t expect it to happen until 2016 if current lead times are any predictor.

OK I said I wanted one so payment sent.  Sure didn’t expect to see it ready this fast!  No more new molds for me for quite a while.  Really looking forward to trying this bullet in my Krag.  Should make a great pig projectile.

Well, since I started this I guess I have the obligation to plunk down the $133 for the lone 2GC and 2 PB version you have listed.

Ok just tried the big bullet with HP and the 31299 HP in my Springfield ’03 today.  The big one weighs about 230grs  and the HP 31299 190grs cast of WW metal.  Both molds are easy to use and make very nice looking, round bullets.  Tried both with 16grs of 2400 at 50 yds and got decent first groups of about 2 inches with iron sights and ancient eyes.  I do believe I can do better with a bit of tweeking  and it won’t hurt for me to blacken the sights.  Boy are they hard on old eyes.  I’m pleased with both bullets and plan to try them in the Krag and in an ’06 with scope.

The only thing I was not entirely happy with is the heavy bullet had the gascheck below the case neck when seated so the ogive was just engraved by the rifling.  Can’t really complain though as the bullet wasn’t designed for this cartridge.  It should fit beautifully in the Krag and I expect it to be my first choice for cast in that rifle.

Thank you for such a quality product.

First trial group of the NOE 311299HP mold.
Shot this with a 10.5″ Noveski 300 Blackout and YHM Suppressor.
                    Velocity Approx 1000 FPS .
                    100% feed and Function
got expansion in hard packed sand and 12″ of penetration

planning on shooting a 10 shot group next ..

so far I am extremely happy with the mold and the performance

2nd group with the NOE 311299 HP Mold .. I shot this rapid rife mostly to see if I could get a misfeed or Malfunction
1st shot out of this suppressor is always slightly right of following shots..
As you can see it grouped very well .. very sure if I had taken my time to aim group would be at least 1/4″ smaller and maybe more
Will be reloading more this weekend and do another slow fire aimed group
All bullets were tumble Pc’ed lubed and sorted to approx. 1 grain difference
I am posting because several people expressed doubts that the NOE with a .20 nose would feed in an AR15 or the HP nose would be too damaged to be accurate .. As you see they did just fine in “MY ” gun
Even used several bullets that were uneven coated..did not seem to effect it much at 50 yds but do feel at 100 you would see it open up

I have shot the 247gr HP version in my ’03 Springfield.  I like it.  Gave about 1.5″ at 50 yds for the first time out with 16grs 2400  cast from ACWW metal.  I think it will do better with a bit of tweeking.  I do have to seat the gas check below the case neck for the bullet to chamber and not pull out.  That is a bit deeper than I like to put a gascheck.  As soon as I get my Krag back I’ll try it next.  The Krag is the real reason I wanted this bullet and I expect it to be a perfect match for the long Krag case neck.

I have tried it from air cooled isotope cores and lubed with Felix in both 308 and 300 blackout, both subsonic. The 300 blackout was from a 10″ AR 1-7″ twist with a silencer. Results were pretty much in line with how this barrel shoots other cast bullets. It seems to like the gas checked ones a little bit better than the plain based. I’m thinking about trying some sort of ‘tricks’ with the PB version (powder coat, filler or wad) to see if I can do better.

Unfortunately performance in my 1-10″ twist 308 was downright dismal, so it didn’t turn out to be the all-purpose bullet I had hoped for. I broke down and bought an RG4 version of the 311299 to try in the 308…you sure are getting a lot of my money lately!
