I’m sure that im not the only one who wants a groove less htc 125gr and 230/240 for there 300 aac blackout. the bigger one could be designed off the lee 230 minus the stupid boatail and the 125 could be based off the  noe HTC309-153-SP minus the sharp point to make tumbling in powder coat easier. Also making the nose of the bullet a little narrower to account for the thickness of the coating since blackouts have a very tight chamber and throat. And the bullet weights can very a bit +/- to account for design

I really thought there would be interest in these molds

I’d be down for a heavier HTC mold. I’m thinking more like 250-260 grains though

Really should have 2 different threads.  One for the lighter weight bullet, the other for the heavy bullet.  That way we can get the designs all set and stuff.

              Hi,

You have got me interested, I printed the bullet profile off and white outed the boat tail and introduced another driving band forward, not sure if it’s any good but thought I would post anyway, looks good to me but I am not a bullet designer.

What if we took the existing noe 247 gr bullet and just took out the lube grooves?

I like that idea, what about doing it on the Noe 230, it has a nice nose profile, can you also size it down to 309?

I’d try the NOE 311-230-FN with no grooves if made available.
It’s not a deal breaker, but if a.309 dia. can be done then that’d be grand.

Would that put it close to 240gr?

                      Johnny,
Yes the 311-230-FN was the bullet I was meaning,

The problem you might have with that one is trying to get the bore riding section the right size after a decently thick powder coat.  We would need to shrink that part slightly to account for the increase in thickness with the powder coat.

ahh, so that cherry was cut to .311 size.

                          Well dang.
I was hoping it was an orbital cherry. So it could be orbited smaller making all diameters smaller allowing for powdercoat to bring the nose back up to bore ride
Thus having a quicker GB than finding enough interest to justify a new cherry.

But hey, I’m all for a new GB if that’s what it takes for a powder coat specific version.

I believe the 247 might be easier to work with, but the 230 can also be modified too.  Which bullet profile do you prefer?

cornmastah, don’t mind the look of the 230, do you think we could have a gas check opition as well as PB, would like to try one in my .06, do you think we could have the mold drop 309.

I wouldn’t mind 309 but I guess it’s what everybody wants, you would know better than me but isn’t 310 on the large side for modern 30 cals, do you think you could do a drawing , that might get a few more interested.

I’m interested in the 247 grain with the lube grooves removed.

Just out of curiosity with the others expressing this, have y’all had that much trouble with the powdercoating making them too thick on the 311 molds? I have no issues sizing them to 310 after coating.

If you can draw up the 247 without grooves i’m interested to see how heavy it would be. My PB drop on average 242, should put it close to 250.
