Any interest in a bullet like this one?  Maybe also in an RG config which would bring the weight roughly to 350ish?  Maybe a crimp groove?

Or maybe something a little smaller around 300gr like this:

I see no Lube groves in this design, so does that mean your goal the is a powder coat only bullet?

I would want it as a powder coat bullet, but if people were interested, we could throw in a lube groove or two.

I’d be interested in one if they have a crimp groove.

Crimp groove is fine IF it was placed for Socom feeding/chamber fit. Guessing it doesn’t matter so much where you place it for 45-70 unless COL gets too long for lever gun (but that would also be too long for socom).

Yes, I would be in as well

I wonder if Al could run some with crimp grooves and some without.

The 350ish HP with a crimp groove for SOCOM would get me off my wallet.

I would definitely be in for one as well with the crimp groove.

Which size do you guys want more?  And with a hollow point option?  We can tweak this however you guys want.  Here are some updated drawings after a little tinkering.  Need to check with Swede to make sure the crimp groove is in an acceptable location for the 45-70.  With the 458soc, we should be able to seat a little deeper and cover the crimp groove (if needed).  Nose longer?  Shorter?

If I didn’t already have a big wishlist of molds I need already I would put my name down for this one too! I like the look of it a lot!

I’d go with a 350gr (solid) bullet for the .458.

If you want to use the bullet in the .458socom I would suggest a negative tolerance on the bullet forward of the crimp groove. Kind of like the Beartooth Piledriver and Accurate VG designs have. This way you don’t have to size down real far or seat the bullet real short to get the round to chamber. The nose can also be longer. The reverse engineered PTG reamer for the .458 has a more generous throat than the original approved reamer, (mix of both chambers on the market) but the negative tolerance just makes life easier. Especially when you go adding thickness with PC or Hitek.

I have the MP 462 hammer and the 350 Ranch Dog and it has to be shortened up a lot (under 2″ COAL) to chamber in my original spec chamber barrel.

That’s exactly what I want, 350ish with a HP and crimp groove for a SOCOM. Put me down for one.
