Ranch Dog
::Last year I started working on reloading references for the NOE bullet designs, it has gone slower than expected because of the limits of my time but also because I needed to come up with templates that would make the Load Note sheets consistent across all the types of designs and contain as much information as possible for the bullet caster. Al and I think that we have a good format that addresses as many considerations as possible when generating the data so it is time to get started. A quick look at his store’s pages confirms exactly what an undertaking this will be so rather than work from A to Z, I thought I would ask as to what the immediate need of NOE’s customer base is concerning the information to get your bullets out the barrel.
In order to understand how the suggested loads are generated and how the pages are formatted, please read: Pressure Notes.
Here is what the formatted Load Note pages look like and how the information is presented: 378-275 H&H Mag
If you recommend a bullet design, please include what cartridge you using with the design.

::Hi, I would be interested in load data for heavy, 200 grain bullets in a modern 9mm revolver (S&W 940).
In particular the 360-200-RN (38S&W) and 360-200-FN (RCBS) bullets with Vihtavouri 3N37.
Thanks
Onkel, I’m having problems generating the data for the long bullets within the confines of the 9mm Luger 1.169 MAX OAL. Your choice of 3N37 is not in the results. From my calculations, these bullets would need an OAL of 1.90″. Would this fit within the confines of the 9mm Luger Cylinder?
I’ve already spent about an hour trying to make this work so until I hear back from you I’m going to move on to the next bullet/cartridge in the lineup.

Just a reminder, I can only have the time to generate one Load Note sheet a day. Currently 7 days in the que.Check at http://www.ranchdogoutdoors.com/data to see if the notes you are looking for have been posted. If not, make a specific request via a post using the bullet ID profile and cartridge. It will be added to the back of the list. Typically, I’m able to complete one request a day, in the order received.
It is a good idea to bookmark the link above once opened.

::That should do it for me. Thanks again.
And, oh boy, there’s some screaming hot load data on the .327 Federal sheet. My wadcutter alloy would never stand up to that, and several ballisticians have suggested never pushing “soft” bullets (even some jacketed) that hard in a revolver, anyway (it seems to cause forcing cone damage in .327 Federal, .460 S&W, and some .454 Casulls). But I do appreciate the data.
You’re welcome!
Yeah, I understand what you mean. The thing to remember is that this data represents pressure benchmarks and in that most people don’t shoot with pressure trace equipment, the velocities that the pressure generates so that you can tell if the load is going to get you into trouble. In no way does it represent “pet” or favorite loads. That would be impossible for me to do as I don’t shoot a most of the stuff that has been listed in this topic.

::I am interested in the 8mm data previously requested but, if possible, I would also like to see data for the NOE 339-230 RF for the 8X58RD Swedish Rolling Block and also the 8x56R Austrian M95.
Thank you for taking the time to do this project Ranch Dog.
CloseyMy head is seeing a lot of little 8mm’s swimming around right now 😮
I picked out one you listed but could you list exactly what you are looking for, like the list that I generate: bullet & cartridge. One line for each please as this can be a bit difficult to understand. The firearm isn’t important because I’m not generating the data specific to it, only bullet and cartridge.

The cylinder is about 1.57.
I have tried the Ideal 358315 (206gn) at 1.30, without GC, and with 3.0gn 3N37 it seems to work, but I have no pressure measuring equipment.360-200-RN (38S&W): I would figure maximum seating depth to be about .30 with the plain base, so I would have estimated an OAL at around 1.31.
360-200-FN GC (RCBS): If used without GC it could possibly be seated to the crimp groove, and in that case OAL could be about 1.26, maybe less.
I have not tried these bullets so I don’t know if it will work.
Below is how the 358315 looks at 1.30 OAL.

::Onkel, that picture is some crazy looking stuff. Thanks for your response and patience as your reply caused me to dig a little deeper and I found the reason I could not generate the data. My new calc database, dropped the MS products, keys slightly different than excel so the LoadNotes sheet was picking up a different 360-200 with a much longer nose. I corrected that and also added some conditional formatting that turns the Max Cartridge OAL to Bold Red if it is exceeded by the Min OAL the data is calculated by.
If your actual OAL exceeds the Min OAL there are no worries as the LoadNotes is conservative. LoadNotes should never be used if your OAL is less than the Min OAL.
Thanks again for your patience!
Oh! 3N37 was in the results!

Please disregard Closey, I think I figured it out just check the list if you would please.
