Last year I started working on reloading references for the NOE bullet designs, it has gone slower than expected because of the limits of my time but also because I needed to come up with templates that would make the Load Note sheets consistent across all the types of designs and contain as much information as possible for the bullet caster. Al and I think that we have a good format that addresses as many considerations as possible when generating the data so it is time to get started. A quick look at his store’s pages confirms exactly what an undertaking this will be so rather than work from A to Z, I thought I would ask as to what the immediate need of NOE’s customer base is concerning the information to get your bullets out the barrel.

In order to understand how the suggested loads are generated and how the pages are formatted, please read:  Pressure Notes.

Here is what the formatted Load Note pages look like and how the information is presented: 378-275 H&H Mag

If you recommend a bullet design, please include what cartridge you using with the design.

I would like to see the 314-152-RN in 7.62x54mmR and the 315-103-SWC in 7.62×25 please and thank you for doing this.

You’re welcome Cowboy Dan, they are added to the list.

Yes, the 8x57IRS is the same as the JRS, and the 8x58RD Danish Krag is also right for the Swedish Remington.
          Thanks

Good deal, thanks for the quick reply.

Onkel, please look the Load Notes over real good for the both the 8x57IRS and 8X58RD. I used the specs within Quick Load as trying to find an agreement from other sources was tough. I would appreciate any feedback you might have.

8x57IRS: I don’t have any experience loading this cartridge, so I can’t say much about it. Generally the rimmed 8x57IRS is loaded to a lower pressure than the rimless 8x57IS Mauser because the former is used in combination guns and the latter usually in Mauser actions, that’s about what I know.

8x58RD: The loads seem low for a max, but I see the Pmax loads noted as 23.2 KPSI, while Pressure Limits are stated as NMP 23.2 and Pmax 26.1 in the heading.

I don’t have much loading data, but the Norwegian “Ladeboken” is as far as I know widely accepted, and below is an excerpt (found on the internet, not mine) for a 196gn jacketed bullet and Vihtavouri N135 and N140 powders for comparison.

The NMP vs. Pmax is covered in the Pressure Notes. In a nutshell pressure has excursions just like velocity. Loads are generated to NMP with this consideration so that none of the excursions exceed Pmax. The reloading companies with their data do the same, they just don’t tell you about it.

Okay. It’s on the safe side then. It’s no problem anyway. Target loads don’t need to be as powerful as hunting loads.
Great to have some data. Thanks :)

How about 412-237-SWC in .41 special?

Do you have a cartridge drawing for the 41 Spl. I thought it more common than I’ve found. I can come up with nothing. ???

I am interested in the 8mm data previously requested but, if possible, I would also like to see data for the NOE 339-230 RF for the 8X58RD Swedish Rolling Block and also the 8x56R Austrian M95.

Need some more help. I find three 8X56Rs; an RM 30, RM 30, and an RM Port. Krop. Any advice.

Never noticed the Frankenstein bullet, that is one nice looking bullet!

Okay, I guess I’m running so far behind that I cannot look ahead. I will need to start vetting the requests a bit better.

With that said, I’m not sure how to make a .339 bullet down a .323 groove?

This is the drawing from the current group buy. It is offered in three different sizes, but only the .321 shown. The .325 has the various diameters upped by .004.

Thanks but to run the calculations I need more data than the drawing supplies. Swede and I use the same bullet design software so I will need for him to send me his updated database. I sent him an email but will call him today.

I had some hogs tear my yard up last night and given the holes and tracks I figured they were nice ones. I decided to stay up and knock some of these Note sheets out in that Swede refreshed the database I have plus the moon wouldn’t hit the horizon until a minute after midnight. I just finished the 412-237-SWC 41 Spl at 11:58 and picked up my Rossi R92 chambered in 480 Ruger and told my wife that I was going out to find the diggers.

As I reached for the door I could see four large hogs entering my yard about 80 yards out. I quietly went out to the barn so I could shoot off the rear tire of my tractor. That TLC478-375-RF just hammered the heck out of one! Nice night’s work, time for bed.

                                      hog_04282016_01.jpg

Picture is fuzzy but the lighted building immediately behind me is the the barn.
