Would anyone be interested in a group buy lead ingot mold made from aluminum and have the NOE logo on each cavity?

If so, how many cavities and what weight should they be?

here is a link to the Cast Boolit site for the ingot mould group buy back in 2009

I’d reeeally be interested in a couple of aluminum ingot molds. My iron ingots molds are all rusty and ugly. The notion for the type of metal embosed in the bottom is great. Thanks George

Snapped a pic of my cast Boolit forum moulds so people could get an idea of the mould with markings. On the left is the 1 lb. mould and the right is the 2 lb. mould. On top is a 2 lb ingot from the mould showing the markings.  Under the logo  is “WW    PB  LINO  OTHER” so you can dimple it with a punch or circle what it is with a pen.

I think sense most people are using the LEE pots, keep the ingots at the same size as the Lee ones. I would even go for a mould like the condiment cups. They stack great.

The smaller one with 4 cavities looks just right to me. When they become available I would like 2 please!

I think you hit the nail on the head. Most people do use LEE casting post including me. The 4-1lb. cavity does make the most sense.

Not sure what the final cost will be to produce these but, I’m definitely in for a minimum of 2.

Personally I would be interested in a larger mold, something around 5″.  Have the 1 & 2# & get tired of the time to fill them etc with larger melts.  Also a nice rectangular 5″ would stack nice.

I also would be interested in the 4 cavity 1# ingot molds.  I would be in for at least two of them.

I’d be in for about 4 or so. Also be interested in a couple of the bigger size (2lb’er) if they were to happen. jroc

                        Al,

Does this appear to be doable for 2015? If so, what kind of time frame?

I personally like the large mold because there is room to write with a marker on the face of the mold.

Either way, I  think the designs are great.  A 1 and a 2 pounder would be just fine.  What ever Al comes up with will be top drawer.  I do like the Cast Boolits mould I have.

I dislike the idea of using mold handles.  I don’t have enough mold handles as it is and they are a pain to move between molds if you use them a lot.  I like the lyman mold handle.  It’s one piece that goes on permanently and is very similar to ONE side of the lee handles.  It always has it’s own handle and I don’t have to worry about pliers slipping off or finding a set of unused handles to use.

With the right handle system, I’d be in for a 2 pounder if it was a longer version of the 1 lb to fit better in the melting pot.  I wouldn’t be interested in the little square 2 pounders.
