Last year I started working on reloading references for the NOE bullet designs, it has gone slower than expected because of the limits of my time but also because I needed to come up with templates that would make the Load Note sheets consistent across all the types of designs and contain as much information as possible for the bullet caster. Al and I think that we have a good format that addresses as many considerations as possible when generating the data so it is time to get started. A quick look at his store’s pages confirms exactly what an undertaking this will be so rather than work from A to Z, I thought I would ask as to what the immediate need of NOE’s customer base is concerning the information to get your bullets out the barrel.

In order to understand how the suggested loads are generated and how the pages are formatted, please read:  Pressure Notes.

Here is what the formatted Load Note pages look like and how the information is presented: 378-275 H&H Mag

If you recommend a bullet design, please include what cartridge you using with the design.

Just a reminder, I usually only generate one Load Note sheet a day.

Check at http://www.ranchdogoutdoors.com/data to see if the notes you are looking for are posted. If not, make a specific request via a post using the bullet ID profile and cartridge, and it will be added to the list. Custom data; specific powder requests, cartridges not in my database, and bores not within .003″ of the bullet’s design diameter, cannot be provided. Data is generated within the confines of templates; please see any Load Notes as a sample of what can be provided.

This should bring all the outstanding requests as filled. Please let me know if I missed one.

I went ahead and ran the two Vihtavuori powders individually, these numbers would be considered a Max load. COAL is the length of the brass (1.135″), and velocity from a 5″ barrel.

            N310, 2.0-grains, 52% fill, 748 FPS, and 100% burnt.

            N320, 2.5-grains, 66% fill, 816 FPS, and 100% burnt.

            Excellent, thanks!
I am making up a couple to try.

And thanks for the 358-128-RN 9mm Luger

              Ranchdog,

Thank you very much for this, but I think you have the 25k and the 30k reversed in the spreadsheet.

Thank you for the catch Greg, not sure why that happened, it might be because I stopped the first run when I noticed the OAL issue. Started everything again and it looks like everything is good. Posted revision #1, chunk the original.

Mr. Ranch Dog, I have another request my friend. Can you make me a load card for the 453-235-HP for the 45 acp please. Can you also please include ramshot silouhette powder and true blue? I would like to try there first. Thank you very much for your help.

                              Good Morning Michael,
I’m sorry for the confusion there. This is the main mold number, and I was going to be using the RG setup and the HP pins for the 230 ish grain version in my 45 acp ( 453-235-swc hp ).

                              NOE 453-238-SWC (453432)

Thank you again for your help,
                              Mike

Okay, got it. This is a 45 Colt bullet with a crimp groove so are you going to use that groove (45 ACP revolver) or will you seat the bullet with the case mouth flush with the top band (semi-auto)?

I was going to seat it all the way for my 1911. I was figuring somewhere around 1.235 but would also like your input. Hoping to get close to 900 fps with standard load pressure. Thank you for clarifying.

I don’t think you will see that type of overall length. Really, I’m not sure this will work at all but that’s me. I think the cartridge OAL is going to be to short for reliable function and with the large .453 cylinder down in the short case, I think you might experience return to battery malfunctions with the case hanging up between the base of the bullet and web of the case. At least, the case is going to have a pretty good bulge in the area associated with the base of the bullet. My worry is also with the 90° forward edge of the top band against the 90° step, pressures might be unpredictable and there will probably be lead shaved off the bullet as it passes the step.

NOE has some mighty fine 45 Auto bullets…
